Burr - Carll S. Jr., 92, of Venice, FL, formerly of Northport, NY passed away April 21, 2012. Mr. Burr owned and operated Carll S. Burr, Jr., Inc., his agency for real estate, custom homes, and insurance for almost 40 years. He and his wife Barbara retired full-time to Venice in 1986, after visiting every year since the 1960s. Carll was a past Secretary/Treasurer of the Suffolk County Water Authority, a founding member of both the Indian Hills Country Club in Northport, NY, and the Nissequoge Country Club in St. James, NY., and a member of the Mission Valley Golf and Country Club since 1964. He was a member of the Long Island Board of Realtors, Rotary International, and the Lions Club. He was also a Mason. Carll is survived by his loving wife Barbara, son Carll S. Burr, III of Northport, NY, grandson Capt. Carll S. Burr, U.S.M.C., and granddaughter Abigail Burr Engles of Charleston, SC. Visitation will be from 12-1 PM Friday at the Nolan & Taylor-Howe Funeral Home, 5 Laurel Avenue, Northport, NY. Interment to follow at Northport Rural Cemetery.
