Kindness, humility, generosity, and humor. All the qualities that John brought to light in his life.
With sadness in his death, and gratitude for having known him in life, his legacy is lived through all who knew him. My heart and prayers go out to everyone he touched.
We are blessed to know him and share in his life. May there be comfort and peace for those who will miss him, and may we continue to share what he shared with us all. May his voice shine bright, as it will be heard long beyond his time on earth.

I always remember Mr Orlando with a smile… the same one Laura inherited. He was such a funny gentle soul who always welcomed the chaos our group of friends would bring to the house! Always laughing and telling us jokes to embarrass Laura.
He is loved and very missed -

I have fond memories of John during my working days at NIF. He was kind, soft spoken, and was always good for a laugh or two.
Good times and cherished memories. Rest easy, John. And, thanks for the memories.

Since my brother John. Is 2 yrs. Younger than me, I have many memories growing up. Some insight: for Mothers & children only & sponsored by a religious organization, we were sent upstate for a vacation, out of concrete Manhattan we lived in at that time. We were happy to go & not afraid because we all roomed together as a family with mom. The next thing I remember, mom & John left by railroad heading to a hospital in Manhattan to remove the pea pod he embedded way back into his ear. He may have been 5 yrs old & I was 7 yrs old. Why did he do that? We were now all alone for a few days.
Another incident years later, helping my mother with Christmas baking of cookies, he was carrying a large tray of unbaked cookies, looked at us & said “if it falls so be it” sure enough we all looked at a pile of raw dough on the floor.
My memory of my brother John, is that he was kind, gentle, obedient, sweet & loving. Why the hell, would he push a pea pod up his ear?
Love you Margaret
