My condolences to the family. Kathy was a member of the Board for the Huntington Club. She was such an interesting person. She always indulged us with her wonderful stories at our board meetings. She will be missed.

Long-time Sagamore Hill volunteer, Kathy McLeavy, died Tuesday evening after suffering a fall last week. Kathy worked in the Old Orchard Museum where for many years, she helped administered the Junior Ranger program and shared stories about Theodore Roosevelt with visiting students, especially 4th graders studying New York State history. She also shared her expertise during Sagamore Hill's celebrations of the 4th of July and along with other volunteers, worked with history-related crafts with the young visitors. For several years, Kathy also enjoyed reading to students at the Theodore Roosevelt Elementary school in Oyster Bay on Earth Day, helping to make them aware of the beauty of our natural environment and Theodore Roosevelt's legacy of conservation. Kathy was a cheerful, generous, lovely person and an asset to the volunteer community. She will be missed.
