John was my very first principal. I was a new teacher, assigned to Little Neck School in Centerport and he welcomed me to his staff. John gave me the confidence I needed to teach my first class of second graders successfully. He was always available to talk and give advice about the children and their families. He was friendly and warm, kind and approachable. How fortunate I was to work with him in the 1970's. I have thought about John and his family over the years and am very sorry to hear of his passisng. My condolences to his loving family.
