I'm am so sorry hear of my friend Bill's passing. He was a kindred spirit to me in so many ways.........the antique cars, ham radio, high-fidelity audio, politics, all things mechanical, electrical, and technical, and he was a wonderful friend to me. I had the good fortune to have known him for well over 30 years.
A fiercely independent man, Bill was capable of doing almost anything himself, and doing it well, from restoring a Ford Model T, to designing and building his own stereo system from scratch. He had truly golden hands, and the keen mind to go along with them.
Bill was also a brave man, a member of the Greatest Generation, having served our country during the Second World War in the Merchant Marine, helping to ship critical wartime supplies to the U.K. while they were under siege.
I will very much miss him, and the interesting talks he and I always had about virtually every subject imaginable, but he is in a better, kinder, and gentler place now. I will always have a special place in my heart for Bill, and many fond memories and rememberances of him.
Farewell, my good friend. Sic gloria transit mundi.
May he rest in peace, and my deepest condolences and sympathies go to Charlie and Sue, and the rest of the Tyrrel family during these difficult times. I will keep all of you in my prayers.
With Warmest Regards,
Bruce Berman
