Obituary of Carol Patricia Hehir

Hehir - Carol, (nee Suthers)(aka mrscph), on September 16, 2015 in her 82nd year. Born in Greenlawn, daughter of the late Claire Dittmar, she has resided in East Northport all her 63 years of marriage. Survived by her loving husband (and best friend) Donald, and her much loved children: Brian & Janet, Janeen & Jim Wine, Donald & Laura, Bernadette & Rich Gartner, Victoria & Lenny Saulle, and Jerome & Diane. (Predeceased by her son in-law Timothy Hawkins.) Grandmother of seventeen grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her three sisters, Dale Berner, Jean Schulz, Paula Pinkes, and brother Fred Dittmar, and their families, and also the family of her late brother Bob Suthers. In addition, she leaves behind a very large and loving "In-law family" The Hehir's! Too many to name individually, but all of them most certainly very special! She has been, and still is an active member, and volunteer of St. Anthony of Padua Parish - as a Lector and coordinator of the Ministry of Consolation. Additionally, she has volunteered in many other community programs for over 50 years. Her experience as a coordinator, led her to work in Home Health Care and various Parishes in the Diocese of Rockville Center. Reposing at Nolan & Taylor-Howe Funeral Home, 5 Laurel Avenue, Northport, Saturday 7-9 pm and Sunday 2-5 & 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian burial at St. Anthony of Padua Church, East Northport, Monday 10:45 am, interment, St. Philip Neri Cemetery.
