I just wanted to say, I am booking a New York trip and always loved to catch up with Mr. George Segur at lunch at Docks we would talk about producing safety videos and Life. My Team adored him he was very passionate about work Life, and he adored his Family! XO I was devastated to hear the news! :-( You shall be missed Mr.George Segur! Never Forgotten! I was a new manager assigned to the Redfern Garage. George greeted me on my first day wearing a makeshift superman outfit, we became friends. Sad news hearing of his passing. All my best to the family. I also worked as a tech for Lenny Parkes at the Plattwood Garage.

Wow! What a surprise. So sorry to hear of George's death. I met George shortly after the Bell Atlantic - NYNEX merger. As a safety and occupational health manager, I soon learned of George's passion for safety and protecting his fellow technicians. It was a pleasure to know and work along side George. My prayers go out to George and his family. He will be missed.

George Segur was my friend.When he came back to the field from the union office. He picked me as his partner. We worked together every day for the next two years until he took the 6 and 6 package in 1999 and retired. But that wasn't the end of our friendship. We stayed in touch. We played golf together. He came to my golf outing upstate every year from 2005 until 2012. When he got rehired by Verizon as a safety manager, he was always "on-call", to me his old friend. I was now the District Steward of the Laurelton Garage, from 2003 to 2011. The Union position he held at the Redfern garage for years in Far Rockaway. When my father died in 2005. Even though he wasn't assigned to the Laurelton garage, for any reason. He was there when I returned from bereavement leave to comfort me on the death of my father. He was my friend, my mentor and my confidant. On 2 Feb 2016 while bedridden in S.I. University Hospital, after they removed my cancerous prostate. George and I exchanged text messages about our conditions. He was in Huntington Hospital at the time. He was dying. But he encouraged me to not give up and keep fighting the cancer. He was a really good man! I will miss him. Semper Fi! George... You were always faithful!
