William "Bill" Cullens, 72, of Northport, New York, passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, May 17, 2013, due to complications related to lung cancer. Bill was born in Brooklyn, New York, the oldest of four children. He spent most of his life in Northport, where he settled with his wife in the early 1970's. He was a very intelligent man who excelled in the field of communications. Before retiring in 2005, he worked as a consultant with DVI Communications in New York City. In his spare time he enjoyed golf, watching football and talking politics. Bill was known throughout his community as a good natured and kind man, who was friend to everyone. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Alexandra "Sandy" Cullens, his three children, Heather Cullens-Sliacky and her husband Martin Sliacky, Colleen Dayton and her husband Brian Dayton, and William "Billy" Cullens, his two grandsons, Nathan Sliacky and Alexander Dayton, and his youngest brother, Charles "Tim" Cullens. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and many, many friends.
