Loving father of Kathleen Shewan, Linda Flanagan and her husband Kevin, and Margo Darretta and her husband Paul. Cherished grandfather of Annabel Shewan, Joseph Flanagan, Thomas Flanagan, Logan Flanagan, Sarah Darretta, and Kate Darretta. Dear brother of Robert Byers and his wife Sarah. Bruce and his brother Robert were longtime partners in George Byers Fuel Oil Company of Greenlawn. Bruce also served his community as a Greenlawn Fireman.
