I am standing upon the seashore. A ship, at my side,

I stand and watch him until, at length, he hangs like a speck

Then, someone at my side says, "There, he is gone."
Gone where?

hull and spar as he was when he left my side.

I was so sad to hear the news of Chris' passing this morning. Chris was one of the first people I met when I transferred to UMD, and I will never forget his friendly and welcoming personality. As a fellow JSA sailor, he made me feel included and familiar in a time where everything was new and intimidating. He was always the teammate that volunteered for tough spots or helped out with a new or inexperienced crew, and the more I got to know him the more I valued him as a team mate and a friend.
