Obituary of Christopher J. Eckl

Christopher Joseph Eckl, 51, of Louisville, KY, husband, father, son, brother and dear friend to many, passed away at home on Friday, August 4. He was born to Maureen and the late Joseph Eckl in Flushing, NY and enjoyed an idyllic childhood in Northport, NY, a town always dear to his heart.

After graduating from James Madison University in 1987, where Chris was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and earned a BBA in marketing, he began his career in NYC, transferred to Chicago, later to Charlotte and then planted roots in Louisville. He was active with St. Thomas More Church as a lector.

Left to treasure his memory are his beloved wife Sheri and their sons Joseph and David; his mother Maureen of Charlotte, NC; sister Genevieve and brother-in-law Michael Granson of Belmont, NC; brother David and sister-in-law Jill Eckl of Ashburn, VA; his father-in-law Frank Greer and brother-in-law David Greer and his wife Pam of Louisville, KY and his nieces and nephews. All of these and more he loved and touched deeply.

In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Daisy Greer.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 7:00p.m. to 9:00p.m., on Thursday, August 10th at Nolan & Taylor-Howe Funeral Home, 5 Laurel Avenue, Northport, NY. The Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:00a.m., on Friday, August 11th at St. Philip Neri Church with interment following at Northport Rural Cemetery.
