John E. Michels - On Saturday, March 10th, 2018, of Northport, 74 years of age. Longtime teacher in the Huntington School District. Devoted Northport Fire Department Volunteer, Secretary, and Ex-Captain of the Rescue Squad. Served his country for many years in the Navy and Navy Reserves. Loving husband of Faye M. (nee Kaylor) Michels. Beloved father of Jeannette P. Michels and Timothy J. (Marlene) Michels. Cherished grandfather of Delaney, Palmer, & Mckenna. Fond brother of Irene Dziedzic and the late James Michels. Reposing Nolan & Taylor-Howe Funeral Home, 5 Laurel Avenue, Northport, Tuesday, 2-5 & 7-9 PM. Funeral service Wednesday, 11 AM, First Presbyterian Church of Northport. United States Naval Military Honors will be held at church.
