Gloria was the support system for the night shift.I worked with her for many tears. She oriented me when I was hired in 1973!! Many laughs and good thoughts have passed. She will be missed. A strong, lovely lady.Rest in peace, Gloria.My sincere condolences to her family and friends.

Gloria was my friend and mentor in good times and stressful times, always supportive as she encouraged me to do my best. Her sensitivity to nurses and patients was unwavering. I will always remember her sense of humor and the uplifting stories she shared with me. I still can see the twinkle in her eyes as she peered above her glasses and her crown of red hair always perfect. Rest In peace as you reunite with your beloved family.

Gloria, Is my mentor, close friend and adopted family member. We have shared both great times and heart wrenching times. Some of the quotes and views on life she has shared with me: "Stand UP and be counted!" " If you take yourself out of it it's funny," (as we both laughed so hard we cried"! I will miss her dearly, and regret we didn't have that "last meeting" we had recently planned . She may not have always had the power to make things right, but she was supportive of the nurses as a whole and both a patient and nurses's advocate. Knowing she has been reunited with her beloved John, Father and Mother gives me some peace , as she was devasted with each of those loses in her life.

My dear friend, you touched the lives of so many people, and we were the better for it. You were the expert and lead with a gentle hand. You asked nothing for yourself only reveling in the success of others. You were a mighty force to be reckoned with and a stalwart defender of Huntington Hospital's Nursing Department. In fact you were our first line of defense when the Department of Health or the Joint Commission knocked on our door. But nothing compared to your fierce love and devotion to your husband John and your son Robert. Now you are back in the arms of your beloved husband and may that thought give you some comfort Robert. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time.
