Obituary of Florence L. Hunter

Hunter, Florence L. (nee Overton) 94 passed away peacefully on June 20, 2018. Florence was the beloved daughter of the late Lawrence and Rhea (Seymour) Overton of Northport and wife of 55 years to the late Ira D. Hunter. Florence graduated from Northport HS and Bucknell University.  She is a member of Northport United Methodist Church. She worked as a lab tech at N. Shore Medical before starting a family. Florence was a Girl Scout leader, a member of the E. Npt. Senior Group, Npt. Yacht Club, American Legion Auxiliary and E. Npt. bowling league.  She was an avid reader, loved to bowl and golf, play bridge, bird watching and gardening.  Loving mother of her surviving four adult children Linda (Walter)Powell, Wayne (Joanne)Hunter, Beth (Dean)Wilson and Pamela Hunter. Caring grandmother of Brian, Rachel, Jessica, Justin and Danielle. Great-grandmother of Micah and Zadie. Reposing Nolan & Taylor-Howe Funeral Home, 5 Laurel Avenue Northport Saturday 10:45 to 11:45 AM. Funeral Service Saturday 11:45 AM at the Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Northport Rural Cemetery.
