Lillian was already a longtime resident of Sunnyside Towers in Sunnyside, Queens, NY, when I moved in in 1989. We lived on the same floor and she was my good neighbor for about 25 years until she moved several years ago. Her energy and spunk were legendary. She was in her 70s when we met and still working at FAO Schwarz. She brought me gifts and a mother's wisdom with the birth of each of my two girls. We went by to see her at FAO Schwarz at Christmastime and there she was in her Santa's hat cheerfully greeting the shoppers. We enjoyed chatting with her at co-op board meetings and in the summertime by the pool. I send condolences to her family on behalf of myself and my daughters. We will smile whenever we think of Lillian. Hers was a life well-lived.

To the family of Lillian Heckler, Lillian was a close friend of mine for twenty-three years since our days at FAO Schwarz when we both worked in the Pre-School Department. We shared a lot of laughs over the years right up to Christmas this year at the Family Christmas dinner at St. Johnsland. She was a lovely and thoughtful friend and we saw each other through a lot over the years. I was lucky to have her as a friend. My condolences to the loss of your grandmother and great-grandmother.
