I am saddened to learn of the passing of my treasured friend, Esther. My condolences to family and friends.
For three years, before I moved out and my sister stayed with her husband, it was my privilege to have such kind and helpful landlords. When I visited with my sister I also got to spend time with Esther and Art. I treasure my lovely afternoons having tea and good conversation with Esther after Art passed on.
Esther and Art remain beautiful lights of my life.

I was lucky enough to know Esther and Art for over 20 years. I rented their house next door. Esther's gardening provided beautiful flowers every spring. She was a gifted artist, a sweet soul and a beautiful person. Conlences to her family and friends.
Love,
Lauren Wilson

I was privileged to know Esther for over 30 years. Esther was a gentle, kind and generous person. She had a serenity about her that was remarkable. It was almost Zen-like. All the years I knew her she was always cheerful and thoughtful of others. I will especially remember her beautiful smile.
Esther was an avid gardener. Over the years she and Artie had transformed their property into a mini arboretum filled with rhododendron, azaleas, hydrangea and a wide mix of spring and summer perennials. Spring afternoons would find her in a wide-brimmed garden hat and garden smock with a pair of garden shears and a straw basket filled with flowers.
In the fall she would bring in the Geraniums and park them by a garage window. She watered them once over the winter. Come spring, out they go and in a few weeks they were flowering again.
Esther had a special way with plants. She had a raised bed and grew tomatoes and herbs in it. There was one tarragon plant that thrived and came back year after year. It was amazing to see how well it grew. She used it in her cooking.
Speaking of which, if you happened to knock on her door around dinner time, she would greet you in her signature apron. During the holidays she baked cookies and gave them as gifts.
Among her many fine qualities one stood out for me: she was a great listener. When speaking with her you always knew you had her undivided attention. I will treasure our conversations.
Esther enriched the world during her life. I will miss her.
