On Tuesday, April 14, 2020, Helen Phillips, loving wife of Ernest Phillips, passed away at the age of 97. Helen was born on January 26th, 1923 in Northport, NY to Virginia Ostrander and George Ostrander. Helen graduated from Northport High School in 1941 and began a career with Grumman during World War 2 followed by Fairchild Republic in years after the war. Helen had a passion for archery in which she competed and won many accolades. She was also an avid New York Mets fan and enjoyed camping. Helen was known to be a very devoted, ardent and compassionate spirit. Helen was preceded in death by her father, George, her mother, Virgina, her sisters Ethel McBride and Minnie Wentz, and her husband, Ernest. Helen is survived by her neice, Virgina McBride and the remaining members of the McBride family.
