Ziggy was one of my residents and he was so dearly loved by all of us!! He had a beautiful voice, was charming and helpful, always participated in our recreation programs. He was a great storyteller and had a great wealth of knowledge. Always a gentleman. It was an honor and privilege to get to know him. With love from the staff on Kipp, Judi Seale (Recreation)

What a joy it was to know Ziggy!
When I visited my Mom, Frances, at St. Johnland,
Ziggy would often stop by her room, and we would invite him to join us. We had many nice conversations
there, as well as outside in the courtyard.
We heard about his life, and the many places where he lived. He spoke about his sons. One could readily tell how much he loved them.
Ziggy was well known for his wonderful singing voice. He lit up the room!
Now Heaven has an additional choir member!
Rest In Peace, Ziggy.

When I learned of the passing of your Dad, Ziggy, I was so sad. I knew of your Dad as my Mom, Frances Harkinish was a fellow resident of St. Johnland. In the past 5 years that my Mom has resided at St. Johnland I can recall many conversations with your Dad during my visits with my Mom. Sitting outside on warm spring and summer days we frequently asked your Dad to join us. He was such an interesting man and told us all about his years as a physics professor at Queens College. We also enjoyed his stories of his travels throughout the world. My Mom was also captivated by these stories. My husband and I often pulled up a chair during recreation activities to watch the residents participating in their various activities along with my Mom. Your Dad was quite the bowler! What we will remember him for the most however is his awesome singing abilities. He had such an amazing set of pipes! The timber of his voice was something we would look forward to during music events. I am certain that he is serenading your Mom in heaven! He will surely be missed! Heaven has gained another angel! My husband and son will keep you and all the family in our prayers! This pandemic has caused
far too many precious lives in Kipp and St. Johnland's main building to be lost. Please keep our Mom, Frances in your prayers, as we worry she will be taken as well!
