Wonderful friend and funny guy! Such a gentlemen. Had a quiet demeanor and alot of compassion. His life was such a blessing to so many people.
I am sure he is playing golf in heaven with some of his friends. God's peace and comfort for Donna and family at this time.

The passing of John Cetta was a great loss to our community, myself, and most of all, his wife Donna and the Cetta family.
John was a great role model. As a volunteer fireman, he served us with distinction. For me personally, John took care of my car with the kind of support that was most important to me. He was there for me when my wife and son passed. He took time to engage me in conversations regarding things that were important to me. Golf was important to both of us, we both played at Crab Meadow and shared many memories. We would also reminisce about fast pitch softball, a sport in which he excelled. He was inducted into the Suffolk County Softball Hall of Fame.
But most of all, we spent time talking about his and Donna’s time at Northport High School. The wonderful people, special happenings, and how lucky we were to be a part of those wonderful years.
John, we will miss you and I will remember you fondly.

I only knew John for a short time. I would bring my car to him for service. John was very good to me always giving me a ride if I need one to pick up my car. I will miss talking with him about my motorcycle racing days. My husbands picture still hangs on his shop wall.
Thank You John for your kind heart.
My prayers are with you may you rest peacefully.

Dear Donna and family, there are no words; Heaven got one of the very GOOD GUYs this week. I have known John for at least 45 years, I was up visiting from Florida and having issues with my VW Bug, he had just opened the garage and fixed it for me explaining all that he was doing as he allowed me to watch, we talked about many things that afternoon, not just about the car, from that day on I knew the kind of guy he was. I will miss my conversations with him, he could talk about anything, politics, the economy, various local issues, etc., every time I went to pick up my car I ended up talking with John for at least an hour, he was great to talk to, an amazing man. He was the best among us; honest, caring, committed and always a true friend who you could count on. He will be missed by all who had the honor and privilege of knowing him. May he RIP, God Bless!

To John's loving family: I've known John almost 40 years and he has always been a caring, gentleman. I never minded getting a red light in front of his shop... just hoping to get to say hello to John. Losing John is a real loss to our community. I feel horrible and think it's such a shame, that John can not have the honorary funeral that he so well deserves. It has been a true honor, to have known John. RIP xoxo Of course, I lit a RED candle for John.

Donna and Cetta Family
It was very sad to learn of John's passing. He was such a delight to be around
talking about various things, NHS sports, history of Northport and East Northport,
our Sposato/Cetta family ties, Fire Dept and softball topics. Although I moved away
to the south, every time I visited the area I always went by to see John.
What a great man, husband, Father and Grandfather. An asset to the community, and the Fire Department. I was privileged to be a friend of his and will miss him
quite a bit. RIP John.
