Doris was my unofficial mentor at Norwood Ave. School. She showed me the ropes and offered her friendship. She and Pumsey taught the building how to get out of our Mud Minds. At her retirement, Doris was honored by Principal Pete Clark for being a Wise Woman, always a source of comfort and knowledge to those who knew her. I am honored to have known Doris and will miss her ever-optimistic bright light. Kay Elenteny Aparo

Doris, we miss your smile, positive attitude, your stories, jokes (“Betty Crocker” was my favorite), your inspirational messages, talks in the pool, playing pinochle. We mourn your loss with your family, but will always remember you fondly. Rest in peace dear friend.

We cannot imagine Doris without a glowing smile. We of course fondly remember the first time we met Ed and Doris on a cruise to the Caribbean with Ken and Lisa and Phil and June back in the early 90s. They even brought along their “baby”, Christy. That was our first time on a cruise ship and we had a great time with the Wells and Robillard families. As her story reads, Doris was always incredibly engaging, interested in you, and smiling. Our deepest condolences to the entire family. Love Jim and Lori Castro
