OBITUARY
THOMAS J. FEENEY
Thomas Feeney of New York, NY, on June 12, 2021, 88 years of age. Born in New York City in 1933 to Irish immigrant parents, William and Lily Feeney, Tom lived life to the fullest. From his earliest years, he was passionate about baseball, earning an invitation to try out for the NY Yankees after high school. He later joined the Air Force, becoming a flight navigator and serving for 12 years in various U.S. and overseas locations, including Vietnam and Guam.
Tom was a dedicated and gifted musician, teaching himself to play the piano by ear. In his midlife years, he worked in the music industry, and into his early 80s, played an extensive repertoire of show tunes and popular songs at parties and weddings, and other social gatherings.
Tom brought immense love, joy and laughter into the lives of his family and his many, many friends. He was deeply devoted to his late parents, his late brother, Bill Feeney, his sister, Ann Feeney, and his late life partner, Andrew Gillespie. Tom was the proud uncle of three nieces, Lisa Miranda, Mary De La Parra, and Michele Ortiz; and three nephews, Patrick Cumiskey, Brian Feeney, and Sean Feeney. He will also be greatly missed by the spouses of his sister, nieces and nephews, and by his eleven grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Services will be held on June 23, 2021: Visiting will be from 9:00am to 10:00am at Nolan Funeral Home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30am at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Northport, NY, and burial at St. Philip Neri Cemetery, East Northport, NY.
