Terence Maurice McCann, 91, formerly from Northport NY, passed away in his home on August 29, 2021 with his loving family close by.

Terence was born on February 15, 1930 to Thomas and Elizabeth McCann in Roslyn, NY. After graduating from Roslyn High School in 1948, Terence honorably served the United States Army in the Korean War, 1951-1953. Following, he started a life-time career in management representing the Sand and Gravel Building Trade on Long Island. He retired at the age of 72.

Terence met his wife, Marian Hansen, and they wed in 1968. They went on to combine their families that include, Richard Johnson, Michael Johnson, Colleen Clark, Jeanne Ann Bruno, Eileen Lynn McCann and Terence Kelly McCann. Terence was one of 11 siblings and is survived by his loving sisters, Derryl Pohalski and Laurel Widmyer.

After retiring at age 72, Terence cherished time with his beloved wife Marian along with their 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. "Grandpa Terry" or "Pop Pop", as he was lovingly referred to, enjoyed attending many of their sporting events, school events, graduations, weddings, and will be remembered as a fun-loving, hands-on Grandpa.

Terence was a proud New York sports fan, enjoyed theater, and dining with friends and family. He was an avid reader and had a thirst for knowledge including history, philosophy and world politics. He is remembered by his children as a Great Irish Pontificator. He was open to discussion and thought, which enhanced his appeal. Swimming and being by the ocean was a great joy to him. All who knew him loved him, and he loved his family deeply. He will be missed.

Donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association in Terence's name.
