We all have such fond memories of aunt Penny growing up and even in our adulthood. she would throw the best famiy reunion parties. She hosted Thanksgiving for many years. She always had us over her door was always open. whenever we were in town we would stop by for a visit. she was always laughing and never complained. she was the hardest worker I ever knew and above all else she was very special to me since she was my godmother. I remember her taking me into the city when I was only 12 years old for my first show at radio city and then a wonderful dinner at mama Leone‘s afterwards. I guess I was the daughter she never had. She will be missed very much. we love you rest in peace I know you are up in heaven having a blast with my mom and the rest of your family that have gone before you. Your memory will live on in our hearts forever until we meet again rest in peace my sweet Aunt Pen.

Growing up, Aunt Penny was like a second Mother to me. I spent a lot of time at the homes on Waterside, Norwood, and of course Washington. Even after I married and moved off the island to NJ, I would stop by when I returned, often to find her off someplace in the world with her church group, but when she was home, there was always coffee and cake. It was like she was expecting you. Talking about the family, what's new, and lots of laughter. Aunt Penny, Uncle Bob (who got me a summer job at Axons) Bob, Tom, and Jim, were such a large part of my childhood that it hurts that I cannot be there having recently moved even further away. All my love and heartfelt best to the entire family. Michael and Karen Fonte, Hendersonville, NC

She was always so loving. I don’t remember a time when Aunt Penny wasn’t smiling. I remember running around the back and side yard of the house with watermelon and drinking that extra soda she gave me. I remember seeing her at school and she was always caring. Rest in peace Aunt Penny.
