Peterson, Robert A. on January 6th, 2022, in his 94th year. Lifelong resident of Northport, known famously and appreciatively for spraying runners with the garden hose in front of his red house on Northwest Drive near James Street during many years of the Great Cow Harbor Race. Beloved husband of 70 Years to the late Mary Jane. Loving father of Karen O'Gara (Owen), Joan Duffy (John), Steven Peterson (Valerie) and Peggy Balkcum (Gregg). Proud grandfather of Sean O'Gara, Dan O'Gara (Andrea), Jim Duffy (Nichole), Jen McNally, Bobby Peterson, Caitlyn Balkcum, Sarah Balkcum and great-grandfather of Harrison, Kaitlyn, Owen, Kami, Patrick, Cole, Claire, Quinn, and Brennan. Owner and Operator of Peterson Heating and Cooling. Robert served his county in the U.S. Navy and was a Northport Volunteer Fireman. Reposing Nolan Funeral Home, 5 Laurel Avenue, Northport Wednesday, 4-7 PM. Funeral Mass Thursday 10 AM, St. Philip Neri Church, interment to follow at parish cemetery in East Northport.
