Obituary of Carol Ann Danner

Carol Ann Danner October 12, 1933- March 1, 2022, Fort Mill, SC
It was on Columbus Day October 12, 1933 during the height of the
Great Depression that Carol Ann Danner was born at Far Rockaway
Hospital in Queens, New York to the late William Hulser and his wife, the
late Ann Hulser.
Carol is survived by her husband Frederick Danner, her children
Kevin (Olivia) Curley of Huntington, NY, Kathleen Curley of Chester, SC,
Patricia (Ernest) Hernandez of Williams, AZ, Daniel Curley of Panama City
Beach, FL, Eileen (Salvador) Rubio of Charlotte, NC, Nancy (Dana)
Burreece of Shawmut, MT, stepson Carl (Lisa) Danner of Alamo, CA, step
sister Peggy Devine of Oyster Bay, NY and half-sister Gail ( Doug) Smith of
Point Loma, CA, 22 grandkids, 26 great grandkids, 14 great, great
grandkids, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Carol attended St, Fidelis Parish School graduating junior high in
1947. She went on to St, Agnes Academic High School to complete her
Studies and graduated in 1951. Carol later became the chairperson in 2001
for her high school 50th reunion. Carol lived in College Point, New York and
Ronkonkoma, New York while married to her late husband, William Curley.
The family moved from Ronkonkoma, New York to San Diego, California in
1969. Carol worked as a waitress in many establishments before getting a
job in central supply at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, California.
After her kids were grown and she and Bill had retired, they moved to
Shawmut, Montana to start a whole new kind of life. Carol and Bill bought
40 acres and raised chickens and sheep. They also rode horses with the
many grandkids who would go spend summers with them. It was some
time after the death of her husband, Bill in 1991, Carol decided to return to
Long Island, New York to live.
It would be in New York where she met and married Frederick Danner
in 1995. Carol was involved in many activities and clubs to include the
Melville Lions Club where she was part of the resupply of food and drinks
to the many firefighters and police officers during the search and rescue
efforts after the 911 attack on the World Trade Centers. Carol was also
involved in the outreach program in Huntington Station, NY for the Blind,
Deaf, and Needy. Carol was a member of the Red Hat Ladies. She was a member of the Italian Genealogy
Club on Long Island as well as the Huntington Historical group where she traveled
each year from 2004-2018 to the Library of Latter Day Saints in Salt Lake
City looking for family records. Carol also made many trips overseas to
Sicily looking for family records.
In 2006, Carol and Fred moved from Huntington Station, New York to
Fort Mill, SC to start another chapter in their retirement life. Carol enjoyed
traveling both within the United States and overseas to Germany and Italy.
Carol also enjoyed bingo, canasta, hand and foot card games, cribbage,
and of course spending time with family.
Carol is preceded in death by her first husband William Curley, daughter
Maureen Garcia, brother William Hulser, half-sister Carol Brean, step
daughter JoAnne Campbell and granddaughter Danielle Campbell.
In lieu of flowers, we are asking for donations in Carol Danners name to be
made to Hospice and Community Care 2275 India Hook Rd, Rock Hill, SC
