A happy memory - Our daughter Lucy, wife of Chuck Agosta, Vito's son, gave birth to Vito and Mary's first grandchild (our second), Nellie Agosta, on August 18, 1994. Our family tradition is to spend August on Cape Cod, so just a few days after Nellie was born Lucy and Chuck joined us at a cottage in Eastham on top of a sand cliff overlooking Cape Cod Bay. What a joy to hold baby Nellie! Soon Vito and Mary arrived and shared in that joy and love. As we enjoyed a meal together, after the main course, Vito, following a custom of the Agosta family (a Sicilian custom?) picked up fruit (a peach?) from the fruit bowl, cut a slice off and offered it to Lucy, saying "God bless." This was a sacred moment I will always remember.
We love you Vito, and we're glad you were able to live to your 100th year in your beautiful home, enjoying the garden you carefully tended, supported with love by your children.

God bless you Vito. My friend for thirty five years. One of the few remaining gentlemen left. Be at peace with Mary. Amen
