Obituary of Julia P. O'Connor

On May, 1, 2023, Julia Patricia O'Connor passed away peacefully in her sleep. She was 93 years old. A lifelong long Island resident residing in Dix Hills, Julia was well-loved in her small town. 

Julia was the loving mother of twin boys, Gregory and Gavin O'Connor, and grandmother to Bronwen, Declan and Jude O'Connor.  She was the beloved aunt of Micheal Conforti and mother in law to Brooke O'Connor.
 
Julia graduated from Marymount College and received a Masters degree in Education from Fordham University. She was a loved and respected teacher in the Plainview, Brentwood, and Commack school districts. 

Julia had a fervent zest for life. She was fun loving, enjoyed singing and dancing, traveling, reading and walking the beach. She exercised regularly and loved staying fit and healthy. In her younger years she was often lovingly called a "Bond Girl" for her beauty and style. 

She had a close group of long term friends she loved spending time with. 

Julia was a devoted mother, always providing unwavering love and support to her children who she called the light of her life.

Her beautiful spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Memorial Visitation Saturday, May 6, 2023, 12-4 PM, at Nolan Funeral Home, 5 Laurel Avenue, Northport. Prayer service to be held during visitation around 3:30 PM.
