Simply put: Mrs. S was a great woman. She always had a smile, made you feel at home and was always welcoming. Having been friends with Billy for over sixty-years, it was easy to see what great parents Mr. & Mrs. S were. If you were lucky to be a friend to Billy, Eileen or Kathy, you saw first-hand what quality people Mr./Mrs. S were: the love they had for their children and families, the ease in making you feel welcome and the tremendous environment their home provided. There was never a time when I didn't look forward to walking into the Sheridan home and spending time with Mr/Mrs Sheridan - it was always a great experience and I will always be grateful.
Marie Sheridan was indeed part of and defined the positive attributes of the 'Greatest Generation'. I am lucky and a better person for knowing her. For Billy, Eileen, Kathy and their families: it is a tragic loss but, together with their father, she will always be a part of and live within them. The world lost a good one but she is in a better place!
