My deepest condolences to the family Heaven gained an Angel, and we lost a great man. WE never met physically but we talked on the phone quite often. i was his trucking guy for the longest. we have discussed everything form trucking rates to my kids he is a very generous man always giving i heard the news and it shocked me .... my prayers go to the family. Rest in peace my friend rest in peace Birdie Reyes

Peter was a classmate at Niagara and a fine fellow Gone From My Sight By Henry Van Dyke I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until, at length, she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other. Then some at my side says: “There, she is gone!” “Gone where?” Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to destined port. Her diminished size is in me, not in her. And just at that moment when someone at my side says: “There, she is gone!” there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout: “Here she comes!” And that is dying.

I was lucky enough to have a classmate of peter's from Kindergarten through eighth grade at St. Philip Neri and all four years at Northport High School. Peter was one of the good guys. He managed to survive the Sisters of St. Joseph and not bear any visible scars from the experience. I was very impressed to have read of Peter's accomplishments, not the least of which was being a loving husband, father and grendfather. Although it has been 50 plus years, I have so many great memories of Pete from highschool. A stand out memory was impetuously pushing him off the Northport dock fully clothed. He laughed but his mom was not happy with me when he returned home drenched. I’m sorry Pete and Pete’s mom!! Luckily you were one of the nicest guys ever! RIP my old friend.
