Obituary of Grace Saladino
Grace Saladino (née Caporaso), our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend was called home by God on the morning of Sunday, November 12th, 2023. An ever-loving, empathic, and undoubtedly tough woman from the heart of Brooklyn, Grace deeply touched the lives of everyone who crossed her path.
Born on the Epiphany - January 6th, 1939 - to her beloved, late parents Modestino and Theresa, Grace had no shortage of love for East New York and always remained a Brooklyn girl at heart. On October 15th, 1960, Grace married Joe, the love of her life, beginning their incredible 63-year journey together.
The lifeblood of her family, Grace was the proud mother of Victoria (John) and Anthony, grandmother of Alexa Grace and Joseph, sister to Modestino Jr. (Doris) and Rocco (Arlene), sister-in-law to Dorothy, and aunt to her many beloved nieces and nephews. Grace was a mother to all, always opening her home and heart to her family and friends who needed a loving hand.
She lived a life full of “Grace,” and loved working at Oldfield Middle School, sharing her compassion for the thousands of children with whom she shared those halls. An ever-stylish and beautiful woman, Grace was always out and about shopping for only the chicest clothes and enjoyed sitting out in the sun for hours on end.
Most of all Grace deeply loved her family and many friends. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
