Obituary of Richard Joseph Eberl

Richard Joseph Eberl " Dick" of Northport on December 10, 2023, 87 years of age. Beloved husband of Hetta, married 64 years and lived in Northport for 60 years. Loving father of Kurt Eberl and Kim Leonard and her husband Richard. Cherished grandfather of Brandon Eberl, Brianna Eberl, Bryan Eberl, Brittany Eberl, Kirsten Leonard, Paige Leonard, and Karl Leonard. Also loved by his many nieces and nephews. Dick proudly worked for Grumman Aerospace for many years as a Civil Engineer specializing in weights and masses and was an integral team member on the Lunar Module. Dick graduated from Columbia University as an engineer and enjoyed playing basketball for the university team. Dick's hobbies were many, he loved to paint and his art work is proudly displayed. He was an active member of the Northport Tennis Club. He enjoyed skiing, fishing, lobstering and boating. Visiting Nolan Funeral Home, 5 Laurel Avenue, Northport, Thursday December 21, 2023, 3-7 pm with a prayer service at 6:30 pm. a Private cremation will follow. In Dick's memory donations to VNS Hospice of Suffolk, 505 Main Street, Northport, would be appreciated and remembered.
