Every year for at least the past 25 years, the Wrights and the Tysons would exchange Christmas cards. And every year we swore that THIS would be the year where we would finally get together to share memories and stories after so many years apart. It is with great sadness that this will not happen.
As most people who knew Bill would tell you, he was a happy, fun loving guy who got along with everyone. During our senior year in high school, I tried to take over Bill’s goalkeeper job on Northport’s varsity soccer team. He was just too experienced a player to let that happen. I was pleased to read of his job as president of the Northport Cow Harbor United Soccer Club but not surprised since he was always willing to give of his time.
The Tysons send our deepest condolences to Marie Claire and the entire family. We will never forget this wonderful man.

Bill was a Beautiful role model of what a husband and father should be. I looked up to him in many ways growing up. He was always smiling and welcoming with open arms.
I will cherish all those cold drinks and fires in the backyard under the stars together with family and friends. He will be deeply missed.

A Tribute to an Old Friend
It was my good fortune to have been able to call Bill, my good friend, for over 60 years. We grew up in Northport, sharing our life adventures together, first in New York and continued when I moved to California. Our lifelong friendship will never die but only grow with the wonderful memories we shared.
Bill was a profoundly proud family man and strongly devoted husband. He was so proud of the accomplishments of Courtney, Mollie and Kate and never tired of praising them. I would smile when he would say how fortunate he was to have such a strong family unit. It wasn't luck but the dedication and resolve that he and Marie Claire brought forth that resulted in them being duly rewarded. Bill loved being "Dad" but true joy was reached when he became "Grandpa".
His commitment to making this a better world was unrelenting. He was dedicated to helping anyone and everyone who asked for his advice. His desire to help the world might be better served in the place he has gone. Those who were fortunate enough to have crossed Bill's path are that much richer in life.
Take care, my friend, I will someday meet you on the first tee at the course in the sky. We will, of course, go to the 19th for our customary G&T's. And yes, I will even let you beat me.
.

We know what rises
Must eventually fall.
And though we lost you, our very own,
we take solace in knowing you're never alone.
You left this world, but we do not fear.
Your memory will live on year after year.
And while our hearts do grieve, we find some peace.
You're with the angels now, in this bittersweet soul release.
It's like sunshine through rain, tears of sadness, but not of pain.
For you're in a better place with no tears, regret, or hurting.
Your spirit is alive,
your compassion unending.
Your limitless love still felt by so many.
So spread your wings and learn to fly for we know this is only a temporary goodbye.

My dear friends Marie Claire & Bill, We are forever grateful for the wonderful times we shared together in San Diego.
Bill was a fun loving adventurer who always saw the funny in all things and willing to have a good time. He was always up for whatever we planned. My dear friend MarieClaire is the most stoic person I know. I am so devastated for her but I know she will go on sharing stories and laughs about her wonderful Bill. We will miss you Bill but you will be forever remembered for that cute smile and happy guy you always were. Forever in our hearts, Janine & Rick Binder
