Obituary of Lena Mazzarella

In Memory of Lena Mazzarella 1925-2024

Lena ("Lee") Mazzarella of Northport passed away on January 9, 2024 at the age of 98. Beloved sister of Rose Mazzarella, Marie Mazzarella, Angela Larcada, Amelia Napolitano, Vincent Mazzarella, Pat Mazzarella, and Jerry Mazzarella.Treasured aunt of Sueann Mazzarella; Angella Broderick and her family; Marie Ellen Larcada Smith and her family; Richard Larcade and his family; Susanne Riela and her family; Ann Garrett and her family; Joseph Napolitano and his family; James Napolitano and his family; Sal Napolitano and his family; Maria Groneman and her family; and Joanne Casatelli and her family.

Lee was a life force, a woman of immense humanity and extraordinary humor. Born nearly a century ago in a tenement on Manhattan's Lower East Side, she moved with her family, first to a home in Elmhurst, Queens and then to Northport. Wherever her home happened to be, it immediately became a sanctuary for her growing family and countless friends. Lee worked many years in the advertising industry until she retired to devote herself to the people she loved and who loved her so in return.

The visiting will be held on Monday January 15th from 4-8pm at Nolan Funeral Home, 5 Laurel Ave, Northport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Philip Neri Church on Tuesday January 16th at 10am, located at 344 Main St, Northport. Burial will be at Holy Rood Cemetery, 111 Old Country Rd, Westbury.
