Wanda H. Kren of Northport NY, passed peacefully on March 25, 2024 at the age of 96. She was the loving mother of 4 daughters; Gail Lopena, Deborah Schwarting (Robert), Susan Schwarting (Nelson) and Valerie Costakis (Mike), adoring grandmother of Joseph, Cristen (Allan), Lindsay (Shea), Daniel (Meredith) and Courtney (Matt), and Oma to Nathan, Nicholas, Olivia, Connor, Ada and Ellie. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph, and son in law Ernest Lopena. Wanda was raised in Forest Hills and graduated from Adelphi University with a degree in Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse at Elmhurst General Hospital for many years retiring as Assistant Director of Nursing. She was an avid gardener, bird watcher and always willing to adopt stray animals. The family would like to thank the staff at St. James Rehabilitation and Health Care Center for their compassionate care.
