I just came across this tribute/obituary of my favorite teacher of all time... Mrs. Kleczka....I was fortunate enough to have Mrs. Kleczka as my 6th grade teacher at Norwood Avenue Elementary School in Northport.... What a lasting and positive influence this wonderful woman had on my life.....My sister, Lisa, who was 2 years older than me, also had Mrs. Kleczka as her teacher and loved her just as much as I did....... I think I somehow got sort of assigned to her class by some kind of miracle or was it that she knew I really wanted her as my teacher?? Who knows.. But regardless, I was very blessed to learn from one of the best!!! What an extraordinary life!! Our entire 6th grade class was invited at the end of the school year to a pool party at the Klecka's home.. Oh what a fond memory... God bless Mrs. Kleczka and her entire family..

As I will forever remember the times the Watkins and Kleczkas got together. Happily celebrating times together, whether the occasion being a big event or the smallest of "Hey c'mon over this weekend" hundreds of times that happened. Growing up, I seemed to spend as much time at 33 Alsace Place as my own home. Always in my corner, Mrs. Kleczka urged me to become a writer, and though I ultimately didn't to make that my profession, I still write every single day, and thank her often for the encouragement she gave me.

My aunt Marianne was a wonderful woman. She had the extraordinary ability to make everyone who she spoke to feel like they were the most important person in the world for the time that she was speaking with them. Our entire family is very sorry that she is no longer physically with us; but, we are so grateful for the parts of her 100 years on earth that we were able to enjoy her presence.

Mary loved muffins, cookies, the Green Bay Packers and the Mets! We have enjoyed Mary's friendship since meeting her five years ago. Every once in a while someone comes along and makes the world a better place just by being there. My aunt Marianne was that person. She was intelligent and loving and truly devoted to her family and friends. She lived her life to the fullest. She truly was there for people. She and Uncle Dan were truly a dynamic duo beyond description. They will definitely live on in their families and the warm memories of everyone who knew them. I wish I could be there to share my condolences but have family issues here right now. Love to you all - Leslie Hill
