Jessica, Michelle, Matt and family, I was shocked to learn this week of Marie’s passing. I am so sorry I was not there for you all. Marie was an amazing person - kind, giving, and above all, caring. Abby and Sean send their love, and if you are ever passing by, we are still in the same home near your Sea Cove house - and we would all like to share a hug. Sending you each love and comfort, with deep gratitude to have known your mom,
Ann DeGregorio (Gardner)

Dear Jess, Michelle and Matt - I was very saddened to hear of Marie’s passing. She was a very kind soul. The hours spent on the sidelines spurred our friendship, we always had a lot of laughs. She loved you guys like nobodies business. I’m so sorry for you all. ❤️

Marie was a great spirit. She loved her children, mom and duffy. She was kind and generous. She will be greatly missed but truly welcomed into heaven.

I was devastated hearing that Marie is gone from our lives. We worked together at Merck Research Labs and she was a dedicated and hard working Clinical Monitor, who never let any important detail slip through the cracks! She was well respected by her colleagues and the clinical personnel with whom she worked. My thoughts and prayers are going out to her loving family. She was a proud mom and grandmother! Dear Jessica, Kevin, Michelle, Matthew and Charlotte
I knew your mom from her many years working as a contract CRA at Boehringer-Ingelheim. She was fearless and always at the top of her game. She was a natural trainer and when she started to be a manager - she tackled that like she did everything else - head on.
She was one of the most generous people I was lucky enough to meet - always giving of time and spirit. She was always positive and optimistic ( even when she herself was down) her optimism and faith sustained her.
I received texts often - pictures of Jessica/Kevin's wedding, birth of Charlotte, an amazing text on how proud she was of Dr. Michelle and all of her hard work, texts on how her youngest Matthew graduated and was now out on his own ( earlier pictures of Matthew playing sports). You were her pride and joy - as well as Duffy.
My prayers are with you and your family. Your Mom was one of a kind

When my son, Bobby and I moved to Fairfield we were all just a group of people living together. Months later when Marie moved in, she instantly befriended everyone and made us all a family. She had the most special way of making each person feel like we were the most important in her life. Bobby and I are completely devastated and our lives will never be the same without her. She immediately became Bobby‘s second mom and my best friend. She had a heart of gold and could never do enough for you, but the fight it took to get her to accept anything from us was exhausting! lol The meals she cooked and left hanging on our door night after night were better than any great restaurant you could imagine! Her stuffed mushrooms, shepherds pie, and amazing salad dressing ! Would you believe the year we met Marie? She threw Bobby a full surprise birthday party in her apartment inviting all neighbors and his friends, cooking everything herself ! Most importantly, she was the proudest, mom and grandma on earth ! She loved and admired her three kids endlessly, and could not believe they were hers! I think her proudest moment was becoming a grandma to her beautiful Charlotte. Every day when Bobby and I would go to To get Duffy to take him for a walk, she would show us the newest gift that she was adding to the pile for Charlotte’s birthday or holiday. She always shopped locally around Northport, usually with Duffy by her side, so everyone knew them so well, From the Hallmark store to Einstein’s attic. Marie was one of the most special and most loved person I ever met. We miss her so so much and feel so lucky to have had her in our lives,, but will always feel so cheated to have lost her way too soon. Love and condolences to grandma, Jessica, Kevin, Michele, and Matthew

I knew Marie from St. Philip Neri we both taught religion together. Marie always greeted me with a smile, she was such a kind and caring person. The two of us would giggle on the stairs at our mutual vulnerabilities and aging, as we entered our classrooms. Please accept my heartfelt sympathies to her family, friends and the church. It’s a big loss for our time here but I am confident she is in a wonderful place. Hugs to all. Meg Cleary
