Obituary of Jane M. Ericksen
Jane was born on June 29th, 1926 to Robert and Muriel Broadley in Brooklyn, NY, the oldest of 5 children. She is survived by her children, Jack Ericksen (Pam Greenwood), Robert Ericksen (Dolores), Jayne Madden (Gary) and Patricia Branston (William), her sister, Martha Iddings, and grandchildren Ian Ericksen, Adams Greenwood-Ericksen, Erin Johnson, Margaret Greenwood-Ericksen, Michael Wagner, Caitlin Pavich, Alana Branston, Reid Branston, Christian Ericksen, and 16 great grandchildren.
Jane lived in Northport, NY for 62 years, in a home that was the center of family life for her large brood. She and Jack presided over many holidays, birthdays, and other family gatherings there. She loved having her family around her, and always remembered and celebrated the many occasions and accomplishments in their lives.
Ballroom dancing was a central passion of Jane's and Jack's life together. They had a wide network of friends, gathered through their many years as dancing instructors, who remained close throughout their lives. They would dance until the early morning, then meet at Friendly’s afterwards.
Jane was a generous and compassionate supporter of charities that served children and religious organizations. She was a loving person who instilled that love into her family and was an unfailing friend and supporter of her children and grandchildren.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
