Obituary of George Brendan Dolan, Jr.
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of a beloved husband, father, and uncle, George Brendan Dolan, who departed the Earthly plain on October 27th, 2024, at the age of 68, following a battle with ALS. Surrounded by his devoted wife Angela, his daughter, Ashley, and his loving family. He is a man of immense humor and wisdom, and cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. His passion for baseball and fishing, as well as building and caring for a backyard koi pond, meant he was always active in the yard. George was known for keeping the house beautiful on the outside with his tending, and full of warmth and love on the inside with his unwavering presence. As we reach out to those who cared for him, we are comforted by stories of all George has done for the people around him. Many saying he was like a second father to them. He was reliable and constant. He was always home right after work to spend time with his family; always. We are blessed to have someone so devoted to his girls, that his absence will always be felt. It is said that, "Every man has two deaths, when he is buried in the ground and the last time someone says his name." Because of the man he was, that second death may never come. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Angela, his daughter, Ashley, his sister-in-laws, Marlene and Lorraine, his nieces, Heather and Heidi and their husband's Mike and Pete, his niece Laura and his nephew Louis, his cousins Eileen and Maureen and their husbands Henry and Tony, his Godchild, Juliana, and his grandnephews Jackson and Joe and grandniece Alex, who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest. He is predeceased by his parents, George Dolan and Margaret Dolan, his mother and father-in-law Thomas and Adele, his brother-in-law, Herb, his paternal grandparents, Bill and Marie, and his maternal grandparents, Maurice and Helena.
In George's memory donations to ALS United Greater New York, 42 Broadway, Suite 1724, New York, NY 10004, would be appreciated and remembered.
