Bob was my boss for the five years that I worked at Aetna. He was brilliant. Like Cassandra in Greek mythology, Bob was a prophet whose foretelling of future events was ignored or discounted entirely by those around him. All that he foresaw for the company, sadly, came to pass with time. Bob was funny, warm, insightful, philosophical and caring. Through our many collegiate conversations I came to know Mary, his children and Bob’s deep, deep love for them. He was so proud of his children’s accomplishments and his wife’s devotion to him and to them. His greatest pleasure was, indeed, his family. A wonderful light has been extinguished, but Bob’s family should take great consolation in knowing that Bob’s insights into life will live on through all of us fortunate enough to have called him a colleague and friend. Rest in peace Bob. You “did good”.
