Denise was beautiful. It's as simple as that. She had a sparkling glow in her eyes that captured life and love. She is an inspiration to us all as we mourn her passing. She will truly be missed, but she is blessed in heaven. May she look upon her family and friends and provide them with comfort in knowing that she endured much pain and suffering in life and now is in the loving care of our God. As I told her before she passed, you will always have a piece of my heart. I just didn't realize that you would actually take it with you. But in the heartache I feel for your loss, I am able to endure knowing that I am with you. Love eternal. Your sister, Judy.

I was only able to meet Denise once, but stayed in touch with her situation through her sister Cookie. I just wanted to give my prayers for comfort and God's grace during this time to her sons, husband, sisters, and mother. I know you will be blessed with her memories and love that she gave you.

Like the light echoes from distant stars, Denise is a brilliant glow of kindness, caring, selflessness, courage, and love that shines upon us all. "Hi, I'm fine. And how are YOU?" was her constant greeting. She had a positive energy which she brought to everyone with her bright smile. The only sin Denise could commit was to buy something at Talbots for full price! If we all can be just a fraction of kindness as Denise was to us all, her love and sparkle will continue to make the world a better place. To the end she was thinkg of others. She wrote, 'Please tell everyone I love them.' And we all love you. You will always be our bright and shinging star.

The first day after "O" met you he told me that he had met the love of his life. After meeting you and getting to know you in my heart I knew that "O" had a gem!!! As time went on and Colleen got to know you she too knew you were a special kind caring and loving person. You have gone to a better and peaceful place. What you have left beind we will remember forever. God has given us a treasure one that knows no time and no place and one that money can not buy,the precious tender gift of memory that will keep you in our hearts forever. God has given you sleep but we here will remember things a word,a smile,a song and because of these memories our world will be a better place because we had you in it for awhile. We will always cherish these memories. We will always love and cherish the memories.

Denise - Your time with us was cut much too short but we are all so much better for it. You have been a loving and nurturing wife and mother for Michael and the boys, a caring and dedicated teacher to your students and a dear friend to the rest of us. Avis and I will always cherish our memories from O'Malley Alley, the H-Monsters and especially the Columbus Day weekends at Sarasota. Those wonderful days lounging on Siesta Key, reading, laughing, telling endless old stories over and over and all of us always in agreement that Michael was "such a jerk".
So now you have moved on to lead us all to a new and better place. We are sad today, but take comfort in knowing that you are already at work making this new place "home" for us when it is our time.
Until we meet again.
Love
Larry, Avis, Ellen & Sami

I am so sorry I cannot be there but I am thinking of you all. I did not know Denise all that well personally but I did know her love of Talbots. Additionally, I know how much my mother truly enjoyed her company and how missed she will be by her family and friends. She was truly a special purpose who clearly touched many lives. I hope the many wonderful memories will ease the pain. Thinking of you all!

Although I never got to know Denise, I feel as though I know her so well. In helping Nicholas and Kathy put together picture collages and hearing stories upon stories about her, she sounds like an amazing woman. I am saddened at the fact that I never got the chance to get to know her. She touched so many people's lives which became evident at the hundreds of people who came to see her over the two days of her wake. My heart and prayers go out to the entire O'Malley family, all their extended family and friends. Although I never knew Denise, she truly was an inspiration.

Theres really only one word to describe Aunt Denise... Amazing!! She was such a kind and thoughtful person in general, and always thought about everyone else before herself. My family spent every Sunday at the house for the jets games and dinner, and Aunt Denise was always the last one to sit down at the table, making sure everyone had their food and was satisfied. I will always remember our trips to Disney with her, and the smile she brought to everyones faces. We will continue with our traditions as a family because I know thats what Aunt Denise would want, even though it wont be the same without her =[. If your reading this Aunt Denise, I miss you so much already. You were a very special person to have dealt with the four boys and big mike for all those years =]. You were the best person I knew, and you were always there for us. I can only hope that one day I live a life that was as full and meaningful as yours. You will always be in my thoughts and memories, and I am going to miss you so much. Rest peacefully, and thank you for everything you have ever done for me. I couldn't ask for a better aunt. All my love, Nick

My dear sis-in-law...so much more than that. The woman who loved my brother UNCONDITIONALLY for so many years. The person who fed my mother her last spoonful of food and held her hand while she died with dignity. The brave mother of my four nephews, who kept her busy and kept her life full and VERY interesting. Denise and I raised our children together and even shared a house together( for a brief , but memorable time) with our 7 children and our husbands. We shared EVERY holiday,EVERY birthday celebration, but most importanly EVERY sunday Jets game together!! Most recently we shared Chemo sessions together, as sick as she was she insisted on sitting by my side, holding my hand, while I underwent chemo. Selfless, beautiful inside and out, Godmother to my Anthony and one of the best friends I could ever have...I promised her I would not ask "why"...because she told me she had lived a great, full, life and was able to experience more in her short life than most experience in their longer lives. She said she was married to her best friend for 28 years and thanked me for "allowing" her to be part of the O'Malley clan. So Denise I will not ask "why", I will do as you asked and continue with all our traditions set for our families, watch over your beautiful children, and ALWAYS be there for Big Mike!!! You will forever be a part of me....I Love You and Miss You Already. Till we meet again...Patti

My first memory was of Denise's smiling face when she worked at the "Spa" in Southboro making those milk shakes for us and putting up with all the teenage Teasing!!
My next most favorite memory was O and Denise's first "date" in Burlington , VT with O doing his best John Barrymore imitation. The beginning of a true love story!!
The most recent memory was also the most symbolic of who Denise is! Ruth and I went to see her and as many of you know she couldn't speak at this point but rather wrote to you.
Before I could ask the basic how ya feeling? How's the pain? How ....?? She had written some questions to Ruth and I about our kids, asking us about our lives our problems.
AND in effect pointed the conversation to us...!!!
That's who Denise was, not about her but about her Husband, her boys, her friends , The Colyers and her students. She gave and gave and gave, never complaining never never focusing on herself!!
I am proud to have been a part of her life and the life that she and my "roomie" lived and loved together.
Ruth and our familes cherish those memories and those special times together!!
To the Colyers and the many "O"s, Ruth and I can't wait to see you, hug you and tell you again how much we loved and do love your mom, your daughter, your sister(in-law), and O your bride!!
With much love,
Heff, Ruth and the Heffernans
