Shaynak, April Ricci of Northport passed away on September 9, 2009. Her warm and wonderful smile will be missed by her children Craig, Sean, Ariel and Daisy. April was the loyal wife of Robert, beloved daughter of Dr. John and Winifred Ricci, the cherished sister of Adrienne, and grandma to Sophie. April considered herself a homemaker, however, we knew her as an international spy, part time doctor, and costumer to the stars, even if those stars were only her children. April excelled as an artist, writer and dancer, even if her only audiences were those privy to her coffee-table doodles, tucked-away manuscripts and living room nightclub playing Wooly Bully or Venus. She was the wittiest most charming person in the world. April blossomed at The Washington University in St. Louis, travelled the world, and every now and then would surprise us with a flawless 3-point shot. She was fiercely loyal and her extraordinary vocabulary shined in defense of others. April's life was a series of vignettes, which like her time on earth, was short and brief and created a lasting impression on our lives much larger than she ever could have imagined. The family will be receiving visitors Friday 2-5 and 7-9 pm at Nolan Taylor-Howe Funeral Home, 5 Laurel Avenue Northport. There will be a prayer service Saturday 11:30 AM at the Funeral Home. Interment to follow at St. Philip Neri Cemetery. Flowers or donations to St. Judes Children's Hospital are greatly appreciated.
