Rest In Peace Lester

Jeffrey Singer posted a condolence

It weighs heavy on my heart that I can not pay my respects to Lester in person. He was one-of-a-kind and I am happy to have known him as part of my extended family.
Nothing in my life has brought me closer to my family than when my sister Julie married Allen. From their wedding, to moving in their new home, and raising their beautiful children, I have shared many special memories with the Moulder family. All of the holidays and birthday celebrations were made even more memorable with the inclusion of my new extended family, most especially Allen's wonderful parents, Jackie and Lester.
For many years, summertime meant birthday parties, holidays, and cookouts with the family. Nothing could compare to sitting under a tent in the backyard, surrounded by family, while sharing a beer with my "Uncle" Lester. (And it was usually a beer I had to sneak out of the cooler for him, hiding it from Julie and Allen, sorry!). But these special moments where we sat and laughed together meant just as much to him as they did to me. Hearing his stories of Jackie and a young Allen always kept a smile on his face, as it did mine. Sharing these happy moments with Lester, watching him laugh and joke, made our family-get-togethers that much more special, and are moments I can never forget.
The year before Jackie passed away, I received an unexpected phone call from "Uncle" Lester. He invited me to come up on Christmas Eve and spend the holiday with him and Jackie, and the rest of the family, in their log cabin. I could never put into words how special that Christmas was to me and our family.
Thank you Lester, for putting a smile on my face, and thinking of me as family. I will miss you.
Love,
"Nephew" Jeff
