Soon after I was married, one morning, the phone rang. It was "Mrs. Shaw". She called to thank me for marrying David Dickman. I thought that was an interesting thing to say. Mrs. Shaw was the mother of two of my former students, Meridith and Tiffany and I only knew her on a very surface level then. She said, "Well, I won't be getting 7:00 am phone calls from your mother in law anymore!"
That made me laugh. And it opened the door for a new relationship with this very classy lady. When it came to fashion, people asked WWJD and it meant, "What Would Jessie Do?" I am so thankful for her guidance at church, in fashion and as a friend. What a lady!

I was very saddened to hear of Jessie’s passing but we must feel blessed that she was with us for so long and that she was so vibrant through her 91 years. She was a very special person that I realized during the few times that I was able to share special
events with her through the generosity of spirit of Tiffany. Please accept my sincere condolences for her entire loving family. I will remember you all in my prayers. We can be sure that she will be welcomed with open arms in Heaven

My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you. She was an amazing lady and it was so obvious she loved being a wife, mom and grandmother. Her spirit and spunk lives on in each of you. Treasure the memories and know she will always be with you!

My mommy, the Lady in Pink, the woman who wrapped a gift like it was an art form. She said things like “Plan your work and work your plan!” She was the woman you could count on every time. We love you Mommy
