Obituary of L. John Friia

L. John Friia of Northport, on August 1. 2021, 80 years of age. Beloved husband of Barbara Tubertini. Loving father of Victoria Friia, Brianna Friia and her husband Joseph Staehle, Christopher Tubertini and Amy Tubertini. Dear grandfather of Diandra Jean, Alessandro, Amelia, Aria and Lia. John proudly graduated from Regis High School in 1958 then went on to earn his Doctorate. THen went on to work for the Commack School district for many years as an English teacher and Latin teacher. During his career he also worked as an adjunct professor at Touro Law School & Stony Brook University. John also worked proudly as a part time Northport Village Police Officer for many years. Of his many accomplishments John enjoyed being a Classical & Jazz muscian and guitarist, and enjoyed his time as president of the Suffolk County Classical Society.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on August 10, 2021 at St. Anthony of Padua Church, East Northport, NY.
