Douglas James Borheck

Douglas Borheck, 66, of Huntington New York, passed away on January 30th 2022 of injuries sustained following a tragic car accident three weeks earlier.
Douglas was born in July of 1955 to Rose and Fred Borheck, he grew up in Syosset Long Island and attended Syosset High School. In 1973 he studied accounting at Villanova University and finished his education with a MBA in Finance at St Johns University New York.
Douglas worked almost 30 years for AIG, moving up the ranks until he reached the level of Senior Vice President of Service Delivery and Transformation. He retired from AIG 5 years ago.
Doug married the love of his life, Susan Munro; the women he shared almost 30 years of marriage with in 1991. They were an incredible vibrant team. They lived their entire married life in Huntington NY. Douglas’s focus was always family and friends. He built lasting relationships from High School thru retirement; friends who will all remember him because of his wonderful sense of humor and his caring nature.
Douglas’s most loved activities and hobbies surrounded travel, sailing, gourmet cooking shows and time spent with his friends. His love for sailing and his involvement with the Centerport yacht club brought him constant enjoyment and entertainment. He built strong friendships with many of the members; summer cruises being one of the highlights of the season.
Douglas is predeceased by his parents; Rose and Fred Borheck. He is survived by his sister Barbara Sutton and brothers Rev. Deacon Steven Borheck and Robert Borheck; and a large loving family of nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. He was a man of many friends; he will be missed by all.
Funeral arrangements have been made at Nolan Funeral Home in Northport, New York.
Viewing Schedule is Friday, Feb 4,2022 from 2-5pm, 7-9pm
Catholic Mass will be held at Our Lady Queen of Snows Church in Glen Oaks New York.
In lieu of flowers; the family has requested family friends and colleagues consider a donation to the American Heart Association.
